We understand „corporate finance“ to mean the topics of equity capital, mezzanine capital and debt capital. The term equity includes, for example, the topics of company valuation or the purchase or sale of business shares or assets (parts of businesses), while the topics of mezzanine and debt capital are the subject of financing issues.
Here the focus is on the structuring of financing and advisory support in its implementation. This can be, for example, financing in connection with the purchase of business shares („share deal“) or assets („asset deal“), but also advice on the refinancing of existing lines or the procurement of liquidity as a result of restructuring. Thus, the term „corporate finance“ is much broader than the German translation “financing of corporates”.
